Our engineers have completed the final set of construction plans for the bridge and are submitting them to both Railroads and MoDOT at the end of this week. These are part of the final steps to receive approval to move forward with construction.
The City has submitted many plans and worked with the Railroads and MoDot for nearly 3 years on this, and it is very exciting to be close to final design and approval.
anticipate the bridge will cost between $6 and $7 Million, which will be paid partly by City Prop E funds, and partly from a $3.4 Million federal grant the City obtained. It will have 4 lanes, a sidewalk/trail and a normal grade.
Below are a couple of images from the final engineered drawings, and a rendering from 2020 that is still pretty accurate so you can see details and understand the progress.
