Work Zone/Road Closure Information (I44 EB Eureka)
MoDOT - St. Louis has notified our office of the following work zone. This will impact our commuters who travel I-44 EB through Eureka through December.
ST.
LOUIS – Drivers who use eastbound I-44 traveling near Route 66 State Park should consider alternate routes or be prepared for higher levels of congestion as crews close one eastbound lane around-the-clock beginning next week.
At 8 p.m. Monday, March 27, crews will close one eastbound lane on the interstate over the Meramec River near the Route 66 State Park around the clock for continuing bridge rehabilitation work over the river.
This lane will remain closed through December.
“This work is to continue replacing joints on the bridge, as well as other routine preventative maintenance. We understand the impacts this work has, and encourage people to avoid the corridor, if possible, during the morning and evening rush periods. We encourage people who regularly use this corridor, if they can, to telecommute, adjust their travel hours or use alternate routes to travel east during the work,” said Ryan Pearcy, MoDOT area engineer for southwest St. Louis County.
